Up in the Air Yoga

I completed my teacher training in Anti-gravity yoga, after four days of intense training and much stressful studying. I really enjoy the unusual technique and can't wait to start teaching.

Back in the Big Apple

Friday 21 - Monday 24 January - after a far too short visit home I made my way to NYC to begin my training for anti-gravity yoga. I walked everyday from Katie and Ramon's flat to the Om Factory. It was extremely cold at the time but I did enjoy my walk and the views it afforded of the city.

Sunset at the pier

After our excellent lunch we drove to Clevedon for a short walk in the chilly air. Clevedon, as always was enchanting and a perfect end to the day.

Wine and Jazz

Sunday 9 January - Our Christmas present from Ian' parents was a jazz lunch at the posh, Hotel Du Vin. The atmosphere was terrific, with a jazz trio playing in the bar area. We had a lovely meal with an excellent glass of wine (we declined the 1300 pound bottle). The food was excellent and it was a wonderfully relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Meeting up in Marlborough

Saturday 8 January - Its been over a year since we last met up with Emma and Dave so we were quite pleased to meet up with them this weekend. Emma had suggested a well rated pub just outside Marlborough. We had a bit of trouble finding as our Google directions were based on street signs and there were none to be found once we go outside Marlborough. We managed to find it basing our directions of distance. We had a very nice meal at the pub and then drove to Marlborough. We had a meander round the high street and then stopped in Polly's tea room for dessert and tea. It was a lovely reunion and we had a pleasant drive home.

Beset by birds

Sunday 2 January - Still revelling in some free time we took a drive to Chew Valley for a walk along the lake. We had brought some mouldy bread to feed the ducks. We took a long stroll with no signs of waterfowl. We found two ducks by some mud flats and once we started feeding them we were joined by three more pair of ducks. They ate there fill then left us. It wasn't until we were pulling out of the parking lot that we found the mass of ducks we had been looking for. We were completely surrounded by ducks as we fed them. I even got one to jump for a piece from my hand. It was good fun and an excellent outing.

Time for Tea

Wednesday 29 December - Ian and I enjoyed our Christmas break by taking a trip to Bath. After some shopping and wandering around we stopped in to the Pump Rooms for some tea. We've tried on previous occasions to have tea at the pump rooms but the long queue always put us off. This time, however we only had a short wait. We had a very nice meal, despite having to wait a bit for service. The live piano music was a very nice touch adding to the excellent atmosphere.
